چکیده

We investigate the late Cretaceous blueschist-facies (480 °C-1.8 GPa) segment of Zagros suture zone, a well-preserved block-in-matrix paleo-subduction channel. aim to determine relative chronology, conditions deformation, and potential fluid sources processes associated with widespread occurrence lawsonite + clinopyroxene glaucophane veins aragonite-bearing hydraulic breccias. use multi-scale approach methodology provide new insights into deep flow mechanisms as well constrain possible sinks CO 2 -bearing fluids in subducting slab. Petrological analyses suggest that silicate-rich vein systems began precipitating during early burial evolved ongoing shearing-related deformation blueschist-facies, while most carbonate-rich hydrofractures formed at near-peak P-T conditions. In situ LA-ICP-MS trace element reveal that: (i) individual silicate host-vein pairs have similar REE signatures, reflecting local-scale fluid-mediated redistribution, (ii) carbonate-bearing metasediments also signatures (iii) blueschist-hosted exhibit enrichments along their rims, suggesting an increasing contribution metasedimentary-derived upon approaching peak . Carbonate O C isotope compositions metasedimentary rocks range from +13.6 +17.9‰ (δ 18 VSMOW ) − 1.0 +3.1‰ 13 VPDB ), demonstrating related large-scale H homogenization far-traveled mafic- ultramafic-derived fluids. Sr Nd isotopic ratios carbonate adjacent host resemble composition indicating rock-buffered occurred between infiltrating rock matrix, possibly episodic porous flow. Thermodynamic modeling predicts decarbonation via fluid-assisted reactions is inefficient carbon release likely occurs deeper subduction interface (i.e., eclogite-facies). propose deeply produced O-rich interacted lithologies facilitating further transport pulses (e.g., porosity waves) traveled kilometer-scale parallel interface, contributing herein observed triggering hydrofracturing lawsonite-blueschist-facies (≈50-60 km depth). Veinsets exhumed subducted hence unique opportunity understand fluid-rock interaction region which tremor slow slip events phenomena occur.

Crustal scale geometry of the Zagros fold–thrust belt, Iran

Balanced cross-sections across the Zagros fold–thrust belt in Iran are used to analyze the geometry of deformation within the sedimentary cover rocks, and to test the hypothesis of basement involved thrusting throughout the fold–thrust belt. Although the Zagros deformation front is a relatively rectilinear feature, the sinuous map-view morphology of the mountain front is a result of a 6 km stru...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Role of supra-subduction zone ophiolites in the tectonic evolution of the southeastern Zagros Orogenic Belt, Iran

Ophiolitic rocks in the southeastern part of the Zagros Orogenic Belt can be separated from southwest to northeast, into two groups: the Neyriz ophiolites and the Naien–Shahrebabak–Baft ophiolites. The southeast sector of Sanandaj-Sirjan wasdelimited by the two nearly synchronous ophiolitic belts in its southwestern and northeastern margins. In this study, new ophiolitic formation models were u...

Episodic Precambrian subduction

The Precambrian geological record shows peak of activity at 1.1, 1.9–2.1, 2.7 and 3.5 Ga, often associated with massive crustal production, orogenesis and supercontinent cycles. It has been suggested that these bursts of tectonic activity are due to mantle avalanche events, where accumulating subducted slabs periodically penetrate the 670 km discontinuity, and subsequent upwelling counterflow a...
